    Excellent little clock. The cat sometimes knocks things off the night table and this clock always works when you pick it up. All the other clocks that I've owned would pop out the batteries as soon as they hit the floor. A small thing, but actually a big deal in the middle of a dark night. I kind of miss the ticking, this clock is completely silent. No ticking.

    There are two reasons why I wanted this clock, it is small and it has hands and a dial. It is only 2×2 inches and one inch thick so it fits everywhere, can even be carried in a pocket or glove box. Battery operated so you can use it anywhere and not have to worry about plugging in or power outages. When you see the sweep second hand going around it lets you know the clock is working. It is silent, most clocks now are electric motors with quartz control so they are quiet and very accurate. The clock has a small amount of glow material so you can see two very thin lines in the dark, there is also a button that lights the dial. The button also doubles as a snooze button for 5 extra minutes of sleep. The top button turns the alarm off or on. Clock time and alarm time are set with two knobs on back. The alarm is pretty loud and insistent. Good for someone like me that can be hard to wake.

    My dad has had several of this style clock over the course of his life. They really are truly silent during operation, using a constantly sweeping second hand. It's dead simple to set the time and the alarm, and activating the alarm is as easy as pulling up the big button on top. It's small, so it doesn't take up a significant amount of room in any bag. But the feature that sets it at the top just might be the alarm. It starts out a little quieter, with its iconic beeps a bit spaced out. The longer you take to turn it off, the louder and more frequent the beeps become. As hard of hearing as my dad is, it's still plenty loud to rouse him from sleep.
