In a household with dogs and cats, there is only so much I can do to eliminate dander and fur, but this allergen neutralizer certainly gives me hope! Best of all, it claims to use no harsh chemicals, making it safe to use around pets. First, I used this on the rug the dogs use when they walk in from outside. It's where the dirt, dander, and fur congregate as they shake the second the dogs walk in (of course). The scent of the product was pleasant and not at all harsh. I let it sit for a while and the cat walked up and sniffed it. Granted, this cat is a little weird – after the dogs get baths, we put dog perfume on them and this cat goes crazy; she sniffs the dogs and rubs against them to put the fragrance on herself I surmise. So she is weird, but still, she did the same to the rug with no negative side effects, so in that regard, this product is a win. I would say that this is an effective product. It helps to keep pet odor down while neutralizing allergens. Granted, I am typically not allergic to my pets, but it gives me peace of mind to use this before I have guests over.

Normally any scent drives my allergies straight into constricted breathing as my nose feels like barely any air can get through. So I thought, I’ll take a flyer on this new category of product and see if it makes any difference. Granted it’s been one day, I used both the hand spray bottle version of the day time and nighttime formulas. The version that’s pressurized gets a lot of negative reviews so I steered clear of that. I first sprayed down the fabric recliner chair where the dog normally hangs out. Pure definitely leaves a scent after spraying but my nose didn’t shut down. In fact breathing was easier after spraying. So I used the nighttime formula on the bedding and pillows. Again. It leaves a scent but instead of my nose shutting down over night and having to wake up to blow my nose, I slept through the night. Was this a one off experience that was all in my head? The fact that I can breathe easily says no. It’s a little crazy but I’m happy I took the flyer and tried it out. Hopefully you’ll have a similar experience.

I use an anti-dust mite spray every week on my mattress to cut down on allergens. I have full and a twin xl mattresses that I use the spray on. This bottle size and amount lasted me 2 1/2 weekend washes. That’s not a lot . The smell is great and I do like the smell better than the livepure I use all the time, but for the price it just doesn’t make sense to repurchase for me. I would get this again to refresh fabrics- curtains and upholstered fabric that doesn’t regularly get laundered or deep cleaned, but I would not get to use on my mattresses. I have a royal blue ottoman that I spot tested with this and it was fine so I did the whole ottoman and it worked well— be sure to spot test.
