After replacing the sprocket gear on my older Chamberlain opener, the motor would only jerk and stop with a five-blink error light. Turned out the original RPM sensor had failed (not uncommon when the motor’s been removed). I ordered this replacement sensor and it was a perfect plug-and-play fix.
Installation was super simple — one screw, one small plug, and you just make sure the slotted black disk passes cleanly through the U-shaped gap. Took maybe five minutes total. As soon as I powered up, the opener ran smoothly in both directions and stopped perfectly at the limits.
If your unit hums, jerks once, and flashes the LED five times, don’t waste hours chasing adjustments — this sensor is the fix. Great price, fast shipping, and now my 20-year-old opener works like new again!
